Our air conditioning is broken. It really sucks. I don't mind having the window open and I enjoy fresh air, but the days have been too hot and I long for air conditioning.
It's not actually the air conditioner that is broken. It's the blower on the furnace. But, that's only interesting if you are into HVAC.
So, last night we slept with all the windows open, as usual. And, during the night I woke up because our dog, Jane, who was sleeping at the foot of my bed, was growling. I sat up and heard a noise outside the window that sounded like little paws scratching at the wall.
Jane growled again. The scratching got louder.
Jane growled again. The animal outside jumped up and grabbed at the wall just below our window!
Jane barked. The animal outside growled.
I got up and closed all the windows.
